Question by Mickeyfive: How hard to live in Jeddah?
Hey fellas!
I might be moving to Jeddah in 2 weeks time or so from Dubai and I’m already hesitated about the entire thing, 7 years in Dubai was enough to get me on sort of lifestyle, entertainment and “FUN”. as they’ve said “Money is not All” but i gotta do it ($$$$$). would anyone please tell me what kind of life is out there? considering am an American Arab, Muslim and still have the party spirit! any difficulties in adapting to what jeddah is? No clubs, i know! what about house parties? living in compounds?
answers from people are already living there would be appreciated.

Jeddah is the commercial capital of the country and its most liberal city. Lifestyle is very similar to that of coastal cities like Los Angeles, minus the clubs and bars. You should see it for your self. What’s the worst that could happen? you dont have to ever return if you dont like it but I’m sure you will! it’s not like youre moving here for good.

jeddah is like the the nicest place in saudi arabia its not strict as everyone else thinks saudi is of course there’s no clubs but there are other things you could do to entertain yourself i recommend going to the beach at sunrise its soo cool then

There allot of house, compound and underground parties. Meet the right people and your set to party all year. It will be a huge change, more conservative and censored.
Jeddah is a rotten and corrupted city, reminds me of Mogadishu (minus the pirates lol) and other fellow African cities with its effed up infrastructure and Demographics .
if you plan then to go to Riyadh, i’ll be happy to tell you that we are the most xenophobic people ever. hmmmm, are you thinking of the eastern province? i’ll be glad to tell you that the people there are Religious Shiite fanatics. they’ll destroy your car and home as long as you don’t torture yourself during their crazy religious events.
anyway don’t come you are not welcome. your job should be taken by Saudis. leave our money to us.

Jeddah’s got everything including private clubs/bars except u don’t pay anything. if u meet the right people you’ll have crazier parties then dubai, i promise. i prefer the exclusive beach parties complete with bartenders and all that. oh yea drugs r included in these parties too. it all depends on ur luck. compound people have some nice parties as well. just look around.
